Welcome to PB Sandwich Hacks: Week One.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLet’s\u003c\/span\u003e jump right in with one of the most cultish peanut butter pairings there is. You may have heard whispers of it around town, amongst the foodies and the peanut butter die-hards… But have \u003cem\u003eyou\u003c\/em\u003e actually tried it yet? Yes, we can only be talking about this: peanut butter and pickles, a.k.a. the PB\u0026amp;P. It’s time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOver a series of very scientific tests (read: we went through a \u003cem\u003elot\u003c\/em\u003e of peanut butter and pickles), we discovered that the ideal ratio of PB:pickle is a very controversial matter, completely dependent on who you’re talking to. Ultimately, we settled on two tablespoons of peanut butter and ten pickles, because we like to keep things even.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe one thing we all agreed on is that the entire surface of the toast must be covered in pickle. Otherwise, what’s the point? We’re also not ones to glob on more peanut butter than you need – the subtle art of the Peanut Butter Toast is one of refinement. Yes, we crave comfort foods as we start to pile on the sweaters, but how many sweet potatoes can we eat?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsually, salad is \u003cem\u003enot\u003c\/em\u003e in this category, but I’ve found one that does the job. It’s savory, sweet, satisfying and – yes – seasonal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStart by assembling fresh spinach (I use pre-washed to save time), a sliced Granny Smith apple and \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.mouth.com\/products\/spiced-candied-pecans\" title=\"Treat Shop’s Spiced Candied Pecans\"\u003eTreat Shop’s Spiced Candied Pecans\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e into a large serving bowl. We carry beans from \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.mouth.com\/collections\/vendors?q=Brooklyn+Roasting+Company\" title=\"Brooklyn Roasting\"\u003eBrooklyn Roasting\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, whose coffee is sold in \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.brooklynroasting.com\/uncategorized\/yes-we-can-and-you-can-too\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"recyclable tin-steel cans\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003erecyclable tin-steel cans\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e. (Did you know steel is continuously recyclable?)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“But Craig,” I hear you saying, “What about \u003cem\u003eyour \u003c\/em\u003ecarbon footprint?”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI hear you. We acknowledge that like any online retailer we face difficulties when it comes to being conscientious about the environment and walk the walk. Our wrapping and cardboard boxes are recyclable. Our corrugated boxes are partially made from recycled content and we use soy ink for printing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe try to be as respectful toward the environment as we can while at the same time trying to efficiently run a small growing company. Are there other things we can do? Yes. And we’re working on it.
