I want them to know how to cook and bake.\u003cbr\u003e2. It gives me an opportunity to expand their palates with slightly unusual pairings and flavors. When they are part of the cooking (or baking) process, they tend to eat and enjoy much more what they make. (And, of course, it also allows me to control the sugar content of their treats.) \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese Chocolate Tahini Bars are perfect. And a big plus: They’re super-easy to make and require no baking.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eChocolate Tahini Bars\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4 ounces of any plain, crunchy cereal (I use \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.kashi.com\/our-foods\/cold-cereal\/kashi-7whole-grain-flakes-cereal\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Kashi's 7 Whole Grain Flakes\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKashi's 7 Whole Grain Flakes\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e) \u003cbr\u003e 5 ounces \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.mouth.com\/products\/76-maranon-dark-chocolate-bar#variant=4727722053\" title=\"Fruition’s Marañón Peru 76% Dark Chocolate Bar\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFruition’s Marañón Peru 76% Dark Chocolate Bar\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cbr\u003e 3\/4 cups tahini\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eDIRECTIONS \u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1. In a food processor, pulse cereal until just broken into bits. Don’t overdo it by turning it into a powder! \u003cbr\u003e 2. On a double boiler, break up chocolate bar and combine with tahini. Stir over simmering water until chocolate has melted, tahini is mixed well and mixture is smooth. \u003cbr\u003e 3. Pour choc-tahini mixture over cereal and mix together well with spatula. \u003cbr\u003e 4. Line a pan (you can even use a glass dish) with parchment paper and pour mixture so it's about ½-inch thick. You may have to flatten and push mixture into corners to level it.\u003cbr\u003e 5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, until hardened. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo serve, cut into strips or squares. Eat straight-up or crumble and serve with ice cream. If you don’t eat them immediately, store in the fridge or else they'll melt!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNote: I went with Fruition’s Marañón Peru 76 Dark Chocolate Bar because if you could turn dark chocolate into butter, it would taste like this. But my clumsy self always seemed to spill it all over my clothes. When Johnny and I created our spill-free version , I decided I could \"do coffee.\" No more stains meant I loved coffee even more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow did it turn into a full-time job? New Grounds Food origin story!\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJohnny: One thing led to another. Ali and I would joke about why we couldn’t just eat our coffee and decided to enter the CoffeeBar idea into a startup competition in hopes of winning some prize money. We ended up winning “audience favorite,” which was enough validation to continue moving forward.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAli: For me, New Grounds Food transitioned from a fun project to a real company after our Kickstarter campaign.
