Mulled Hard Cider: The Best Thing To Happen To You This Fall

Mulled Hard Cider is the perfect fall libation: Super cozy, kind of healthy because apples and not too boozy, which means you can drink a million without fear of embarrassing yourself at your neighbor’s holiday party.

Plus, it’s the perfect drink to satisfy a crowd because it can be made in large batches and kept warm on the stove.

Mulled Cider

2 bottles (about 6 cups) Orchard Hill Red Cider
4 whole cinnamon sticks
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
8 whole allspice berries
Peel from 1 orange
Peel from 1 lemon
½ cup maple syrup
Jack Rudy Cocktail Cherries, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan and bring to an almost boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
2. Remove from heat, pour into mugs and garnish with Jack Rudy Cocktail Cherry and cinnamon stick.

Serves 12

Here’s a party trick: Using a melon baller or spoon, scoop out the inside of an apple and use the hollowed out rind as a mug! To serve a crowd, line up 12 apple mugs on a tray and ladle steaming mulled cider into each.

Mull that over.
