When Neha Patel (founder of Masala Pop) was little, her mom would make popcorn-based snacks like the ones she'd been able to buy from wallahs (snack vendors) all over India. She'd spice the popcorn in a big kettle, then add lentil chips (papadums) and peanuts.
Wherever Neha went, bags of spiced popcorn followed, to the delight of Neha's friends and coworkers. Neha wisely – thankfully – came to the conclusion that she needed to bring this outrageously delicious snack to the rest of us. Namaste.
Around Mouth HQ, we can’t get enough of Neha’s Sweet Chai-Spiced Popcorn (we heart chai). The hint of bitterness from black Assam tea is the perfect counterpoint to sweet caramel. It’s made with non-GMO corn and organic ingredients and each bite (okay, handful) is a dreamy afternoon getaway packed with fragrant, warm spices.
Pretty cool that Masala Pop’s mission also includes a commitment to supporting local groups, community efforts and organizations through in-kind donations, fundraising campaigns and volunteer efforts. Pop on, Masala Pop!
If you too are obsessed with chai, coat a few handfuls with Chai Spice Peanut Almond Butter from Big Spoon Roasters!
Because more of a good thing is a better thing.
