On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… seven swans a-swimming seven Swanson ginning.
Michael Swan-son, ahem, owner of Far North spirits, has created one of the most beautiful bottles we’ve ever seen: Solveig Gin, a “field-to-glass” spirit made from non-GMO rye grown on his family farm in small-town Minnesota.
Michael and his wife harvest all the grains themselves and carefully source additional botanicals and spices. Unlike most gins, Solveig is made of individually distilled botanicals that each gets solo time to shine. Everything’s eventually blended together to create the final creamy, ethereally light spirit, but each citrus fruit, herb and spice maintains its own excellent depth of flavor. The result is so delicious we wish we could swim in it.
That drop-dead gorgeous bottle that looks like a winter snowflake? Absolutely gift-worthy.
One sip of this holiday spirit and your true love will be ginning from ear to ear.
